Like Matta at the 2021 edition of the Spoleto Festival of Two Worlds.

On the occasion of the 64th edition that has just ended, the Carla Fendi Foundation, chaired by Maria Teresa Fendi, conducted an exciting research on Sol Lewitt and Anna Mahler, artists who between the 1960s and 1980s were linked to the Umbrian town of Spoleto, leaving important traces of their activity.

Maria Teresa Fendi wanted to recall the artistic epic of the two artists with two videos.

The director Quirino Conti also paid tribute to them through Matta's Alidor armchair/sculpture, a luminous and surprisingly powerful form at the centre of the stage in the Teatro Caio Melisso.

The rediscovery of two extraordinary stories such as those of Sol Lewitt and Anna Mahler has allowed an approach to an authentic dialogue with Matta's work, an ideal meeting point for an ever lively reflection on art and its inexhaustible possibilities.
